Care Credit - a medical credit card
Pros:
  • 6 months at 0% interest
  • can be used over and over
  • accepted at most veterinarians and dentists
  • can be used for multiple pets and prescription refills
  • doesn't require you to re-apply
Cons:
  • may require a hard credit check
  • is an actual credit card - not a one-time loan
  • 26% APR begins accruing from the day of purchase, which can lead to significant fees if not paid in full
Care Credit is a medical credit card - you can apply on your phone, and pending approval it will tell you the amount available right away.  Any purchases have an initial 0% APR for 6 months when purchased at Cornerstone.  Click here to apply!

Scratchpay - a short-term loan
Pros:
  • no hard credit check
  • easy to apply, instant approval
  • higher approval rate than Care Credit
Cons:
  • must reapply each time you use
  • approval only good for 10 days
  • shorter repayment window (weeks to months)
Scratchpay is another payment plan option, but doesn't perform a hard credit check.  You receive an instant approval decision, and we absorb any initial fees to help facilitate care.  There are a few repayment options (usually a few weeks or months).  You don’t have to use the entire loan amount for either group, you only owe back what you use.

Insurance isn’t structured to help you face what has already happened, and for that reason, pet insurance companies do not offer coverage for incidents that are already present or have a reasonable chance of occurring based on previous symptoms; we call these incidents pre-existing conditions.
